April: Train the Trainer

Train the Trainer with Empowered Nonprofits
This month we walked the walk! The Empowered team spent a full day together for what we call “Train the Trainer" - an opportunity for us, the consultants, to learn new ways to empower our clients to be the best leaders. We set out time to spend with our team, practice our skills in order to be the best professionals our clients need us to be, and finally and most importantly, “refill our cups”.

If you and your team are looking for a training or workshop facilitator, the Empowered Team is ready to go!  🙂

What training are you interested in? Please reach out - we would love to hear from you!

Empowered Founder, Stefanie Pessis Weil, led the team through different exercises and workshops with a goal of learning new avenues to help our clients build team, work through challenges, and encourage them to think outside the box for their fundraising activities. Everyone had the opportunity to act as both participant and facilitator. After each training, we debriefed the “why” behind each activity, and discussed various methods of execution.

The first exercise, focused on the individual person who they are and what they bring to Empowered and their clients. Each team member was asked to bring an item from home that represented their strengths as a professional. This exercise is typically done at the beginning of a training session to allow for a level of vulnerability and openness which results in creating a safe space for introspection and growth.

The second exercise focused on the team. We each passed around a piece of paper with our names on it and our colleagues then had an opportunity to write down our gratitude and appreciation for each other. This activity enables you to connect with those present and build a foundation, in order to then “dive” into the hard work later as a team.

We then pivoted to an exercise called Knowing Your Organization, to guide our client leadership in more deeply connecting to the mission of the organization. This exercise helps your leadership tell the story of the organization, create a communication strategy focused around the keywords that represent the organization, and the impactful ways it is enriching lives
