Empowered Nonprofits team!

Empowered's go-to client advice:

Rashel Allswang: Talk about your organizations' programs by describing the process and outcome. It is important for your community and donors to understand the what, why, and how.

Ilissa Berz: Connect with your community and stay in touch throughout the year!

Laura Ford: Stay in constant communication with your board and key volunteers. Befriend them! Instead of constantly asking them to help you, take them out for lunch, coffee. Text them and ask them about their lives. Donor stewardship rules apply to volunteers as much as to your donors.

Taryn Gluskin: It comes down to mission and vision - if your collateral, event experience, Board work, etc. does not align and serve as an extension of your criteria, you're not going to advance your objectives efficiently and see the outstanding results you deserve.

Christina Jensen: A comment that’s stuck with me (and I repeat to whoever will listen),“Nonprofits should get comfortable driving in 2nd gear.” Instead of passing everyone by at full-speed, only to end up without gas to go on or passengers to help, slow down and respect the journey!

Stefanie Pessis Weil: Change is hard! You hired Empowered to create change. This is going to take time and a lot of energy, but if we trust each other, we will get there together!

What has been a professional win for you this year?

Rashel Allswang: I had such a great year building my existing relationships with my clients and bringing in new ones! I also loved facilitating board trainings both in-person and virtually and look forward to doing more of that in the yeae ahead.

Ilissa Berz: Getting back in-person with my clients. Whether it is going to their offices to collaborate or for event prepping, it has been great strengthening relationships through face-to-face time.

Laura Ford: Surviving event season! My clients all succeeded in their fundraising goals. One of my highlights was one of my organizations initially did not want to do a paddle raise. With careful guidance, I brought them around to the idea and they raised $40,000 from the paddle raise - which was more than their total raised from their entire gala the previous year!

Taryn Gluskin: Taking a huge leap and leaving the corporate world - it brought me to Empowered! I am so excited to start my new journey and have already dived into client work.

Christina Jensen: Getting to a place where there's a bright and hopeful future for an organization with tremendous impact, after starting with this client and quickly uncovering an urgent crisis.

Stefanie Pessis Weil: Creating a new fundraising model for a synagogue that was moving away from dues. This was not an easy task, but it has brought in excitement and is working. This project served as a reminder that the work we do is very individualized - no client is alike - and that is why what we do is both hard work and rewarding work at the end of the day.
