Empowerment In Action: The Three P's

When working with our clients on everything from developing new strategies to creating campaigns, we begin with a Partnering process. Building a client relationship takes time, but it is essential and meaningful. Only after understanding our client needs do we begin working to Pivot their strategies to help them exceed their goals. Ultimately, we aim to emPower our clients in their impactful work and the donors in their generous giving.

Client Case Study: Rising Lights Project
Rising Lights is a disability inclusivity organization supporting young adults with disabilities. They run educational and fun programs for young adults, and in the wider community. We fell in love with their program and mission, especially their garden where they grow veggies and teach youth about farm to table. When thinking about the Ways We Empower our clients, we wanted to highlight our process of transforming their fundraising through an EOY campaign.

Partner
After building a client relationship with Rising Lights Project, we worked to develop a new fundraising strategy to help them exceed their goals through a strategic timeline, compelling story, and multi-faceted solicitation approach.

Immediately noticing the potential of moving beyond a one day Giving Tuesday campaign, we knew an EOY campaign would allow them to tell their compelling story in a way that exemplifies the impact of their work on both the individual and family. We also helped them engage the board in the campaign, developing a pre-campaign donor stewardship plan.

Through our partnership, we prepared and managed an integrated EOY campaign including a donor stewardship garden party, board thankathon, created content and designed materials, plus a plan for post-campaign donor stewardship.

Pivot
The EOY opportunity allowed our client to surpass both fundraising goals and engagement rates.

We exceeded the fundraising goal of $30,000 by $13,816.
We received gifts from over 90 donors, including 30 new givers.
We engaged a 17% overall response rate, 12%+ above the industry average.

Senior Empowerment Officer, Laura Ford, worked incredibly hard to make the Rising Lights EOY campaign a success. She empowered donors and board members through gratitude:

"It's all about saying thank you before you ask again. Engage your board in giving thanks: this makes the donors feel special by receiving a call from a board member AND it makes the board feel good as they get to talk to donors and understand why people support the organization. Many donors actually end up thanking the board for saying thank you!"
