May Madness: Event Season Survival Guide
Event season may be the most challenging time of the year, but it is definitely our favorite. To help us stay organized and power through the May Madness, we have compiled some essential survival tips.
Before The Event Madness...
Before each of our events, we conduct a self-guided assessment to help our clients prioritize their organization's needs. We make sure to discuss key components of event planning including: speakers, entertainment, fundraising, and interactive activities.
We love having a photo background for capturing amazing moments such as this one at the Rising Lights Project Gala. In just three years, this small but mighty nonprofit’s gala has tripled in size, raising 76% over last year’s total.
After finalizing the event elements, we work with our client to organize leadership: the honoree, board, co-chairs, and committee. Each of these members are vital to the power and success of the event.

Another significant piece of pre-event organization is the development of a communications timeline. This communications plan will ensure deadlines are met and that all mailed and electronic pieces are outlined and confirmed.
During The Event Madness...
As the event approaches, it is time to focus on brainstorming unique fundraising ideas to expand revenue options - sponsorships, monetary and in-kind donations. For the day-of event, we often consider a silent auction, raffle, live auction, or fund-a-need. It is also essential to support our appointed event leadership so that they can fulfill their roles and responsibilities effectively.

After The Event Madness...
Even after the event is over, our work is not complete until we make sure to express our gratitude to all those involved in the event process. This includes attendees, donors, sponsors, and supporters.
Giving thanks goes a long way!

We have had an amazing month supporting our clients in hosting fantastic events. We are incredibly proud of the successes achieved and the challenges overcome. Stay tuned for even more exciting events ahead!
